Sr. Staff Software Engineer (Go)

Location: Hybrid role based in Austin, Texas, with in-office presence required three days per week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

What you will do

• Design and implement features across on-premises Connector software, cloud Relay services, and Controller microservices for Trend Vision One Private Access.
• Own Controller services including rule engines, geolocation, event workers, proxy paths, and connector management.
• Diagnose production performance issues involving memory pressure, CPU saturation, latency, and autoscaling.
• Write architecture proposals and design documents and drive them through peer and architect review.
• Investigate complex customer production cases involving on-premises environments, interoperability issues, and long-tail version compatibility.
• Help shape the AI-augmented development pipeline, including autonomous work boundaries, human review gates, and validation requirements.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience building production backend systems.
• Strong proficiency in Go or a systems-oriented language such as Rust or C++, with willingness to work across Go, Python, and C/C++.
• Experience operating customer-environment software, including on-premises services, marketplace images, update mechanisms, and version compatibility.
• Hands-on production debugging using metrics, profiling, and autoscaling tools such as HPA and KEDA.
• Strong Linux internals knowledge, including systemd, namespaces, and networking, plus TCP/IP, TLS, proxies, NAT, and firewalls.
• Experience using an agent harness in engineering work and the ability to direct, review, and validate its output; excellent written communication and design-document skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with ZTNA, SASE, SSE, VPN, or other network security products.
• Distributed systems experience with consistency, retries, idempotency, and partial failures across services and regions.
• Production experience with Microsoft Azure; AWS or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure experience is a plus.
• Experience with CI/CD supply-chain practices, signed releases, SBOMs, reproducible builds, or production LLM-powered systems.
• Experience driving architectural decisions across multiple services and mentoring peers.
