Payroll Analyst Canada

Location: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada; onsite or hybrid

Salary: $57,250–$78,750 CAD annually

What you will do

• Process end-to-end semi-monthly payroll in accordance with Canadian federal and provincial requirements.
• Validate earnings, deductions, taxes, benefits, final pay, HRIS inputs, time-tracking data, and manual adjustments.
• Reconcile payroll before submission and validate output files after processing.
• Partner with Payroll, HRIS, IT, HR, Accounting, Tax, Legal, and external providers on system configuration, testing, reporting, and optimization.
• Prepare payroll registers, GL files, tax reports, reconciliations, audit documentation, and KPI reporting.
• Support year-end processing, including T4 and RL-1 preparation and validation, as well as internal and external audits.

Requirements

• 4–7 years of Canadian full-cycle payroll experience.
• Fluency in English and French, written and spoken.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll taxation, labor laws, wage regulations, CRA requirements, EI, CPP, and provincial employment standards.
• Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables.
• High attention to detail, strong problem-solving and communication skills, and the ability to handle confidential information discreetly.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and meet recurring payroll deadlines.

Nice to have

• Experience with ADP GlobalView.
• Experience supporting payroll system enhancements, integrations, UAT, and automation initiatives.
