Tool And Die Maker (Injection Molding)

Location: New Brighton, Minnesota, United States; onsite, 1st shift from 6:00am to 2:30pm, Monday–Friday

Salary: $37–$42 per hour, with an opportunity for a rate increase after proficiency in certain skills and completion of training.

What you will do

• Manufacture injection mold tooling, inserts, core pins, and other critical mold components.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on injection mold tools.
• Manufacture jigs and fixtures for production machining and assembly operations.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, research and development, and other toolmakers on critical projects.
• Participate in daily 5S and Kaizen activities within the plant.
• Work on the first shift and remain available for overtime.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in a tool room environment manufacturing precision injection molds.
• Completed accredited apprenticeship training and/or earned a technical certificate.
• Strong knowledge of two-plate, three-plate, hot-runner, hydraulic, and mechanical unscrewing mold tools.
• Ability to work to tight tolerances, typically ±0.0002", with expert bench fitting, assembly, slide timing, and critical shutoff bluing skills.
• Expert manual machining, CNC milling and turning, and sinker and wire EDM setup, operation, and programming skills.
• Experience with technical drawings, solid models, CAD systems, and generating machining tool paths; strong organization, communication, and decision-making skills.
