AWS Architect (GenAI)

Location: Hybrid; qualified candidates must live or relocate within a 180-mile radius of a hub in Bloomington, Illinois; Dunwoody, Georgia; Richardson, Texas; or Tempe, Arizona. Applicants must be eligible to work lawfully in the United States immediately; visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $110,000–$150,000 per year, plus potential yearly incentive pay of up to 15% of base salary.

What you will do

• Define and drive the architecture of the Hercules Cloud Contact Center platform, including AI-enabled capabilities that improve agent performance, operational insights, customer experience, and decision-making.
• Lead end-to-end solution design, architectural governance, technical standards, modernization initiatives, and solution reviews across multiple product suites and teams.
• Develop reusable architecture patterns and reference implementations for APIs, event-driven integrations, security, observability, and reliability.
• Drive API-first and event-driven architectures, including API gateway patterns and asynchronous workflows.
• Lead proofs of concept and hands-on reference implementations while evaluating emerging technologies and maintaining architectural consistency.
• Provide technical guidance, mentoring, engineering enablement, and trusted advice to product teams, business stakeholders, engineering teams, data engineering, and leadership.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience delivering AWS cloud solutions with architectural accountability.
• Expertise in designing modern, scalable, maintainable, resilient solutions with agility.
• Experience designing CI/CD and operational excellence practices aligned with DevSecFinOps, SRE, and SLOs/SLIs.
• Proficiency with Java, Python, React, and AWS services including Lambda, ECS/EKS, ROSA, VPC, S3, DynamoDB, Redshift, Glue, REST APIs, SNS, SQS, and EventBridge or equivalent asynchronous patterns.
• Familiarity with the AWS Well-Architected Framework and practical application of its pillars.
• Experience with security and data governance, including IAM least privilege, KMS encryption, secrets management, auditing and monitoring, and PII handling.
• Experience with LLM and GenAI integration patterns, including RAG, retrieval and grounding, tool or function calling, and structured outputs.
• Understanding of GenAI evaluation and quality practices, including hallucination reduction, offline and online evaluations, and feedback loops.

• Contact center platform experience, including Amazon Connect.
