Field Service Technical Advisor, West Region (EV)

Location: Remote in Washington, with 75%–85% travel within the continental United States, primarily across the West region, including California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, Colorado, Alaska, and Hawaii. Applicants must be permanently authorized to work in the United States.

Annual base pay: $83,461–$125,191 USD.

What you will do

• Act as a West-region liaison between service repair facilities and Service, Quality, and Engineering teams to identify root causes and recommend repair actions.
• Provide on-site assistance and expert guidance to technicians handling complex Slate vehicle issues.
• Support high-voltage battery pack testing, repair, replacement, discharging, and power-up procedures.
• Investigate ECU software and calibration issues through data logging and technical documentation.
• Coordinate parts escalations and returns, warranty disputes, approvals, goodwill authorizations, and customer case escalations.
• Monitor service-center certification, repair consistency, compliance, and future training needs.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required.
• At least 3 years of hands-on automotive service and repair experience in a technician role.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience with high-voltage electric vehicles, including diagnostics and testing.
• At least 3 years of hands-on automotive field technical support experience.
• Experience with diagnostic tools, data logging, ECU flash reprogramming, wiring schematics, repair instructions, troubleshooting trees, and engineering specifications.
• Strong technical communication, problem-solving, detail orientation, Microsoft Office proficiency, and ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment.

Nice to have

• AAS in Automotive Technology or equivalent vocational training.
• OEM, ASE, or state certifications, including EV certification; Master Certification preferred.
