Vehicle Test Engineer (Automotive)

Location: Coventry, United Kingdom; on-site 2–3 days per week

What you will do

• Test and validate electrical and electric drive unit systems.
• Develop and execute test procedures and validation activities.
• Monitor, analyse, and interpret test data to identify faults and trends.
• Conduct battery fault-finding and root-cause investigations.
• Coordinate testing with engineering and operational teams.
• Integrate and commission test equipment and instrumentation while producing technical reports and documentation.

Requirements

• Mid-level experience in electrical test engineering within automotive or electrification environments.
• Knowledge of EDU, EV powertrains, or electrical propulsion systems.
• Experience with testing, validation, fault-finding, and technical data analysis.
• Understanding of instrumentation and test equipment.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.
• Exposure to automotive, EV, electrification, high-voltage, or safety-critical programmes.

Nice to have

• Experience with CANalyzer, MATLAB, AVL Concerto, or JIRA.
• Battery validation or powertrain test-facility experience.
• Knowledge of DFMEA, 8D, or structured problem-solving methodologies.
• Experience supporting EDU or battery testing programmes.
