TL;DR
Vehicle Test Engineer - EDU (Automotive): Testing and validating electrical, battery, and electric drive unit systems for electrified powertrain technologies with an accent on hands-on testing, fault investigation, and technical data analysis. Focus on developing test procedures, investigating battery faults and root causes, integrating instrumentation, and producing technical validation documentation.
Location: Coventry, United Kingdom; on-site attendance required 2–3 days per week

What you will do
- Test and validate electrical, battery, and electric drive unit systems.
- Develop and execute test procedures and validation activities for electrified powertrain technologies.
- Monitor, analyse, and interpret test data to identify faults and performance trends.
- Conduct battery fault-finding and root-cause investigations.
- Coordinate testing with engineering and operational teams and support test equipment integration and commissioning.
- Produce technical reports and test documentation in line with quality and safety standards.
Requirements
- Mid-level experience in electrical test engineering within automotive or electrification environments.
- Knowledge of EDU, EV powertrains, or electrical propulsion systems.
- Experience with testing, validation, fault-finding, and analysis of technical and performance data.
- Understanding of instrumentation and test equipment, with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.
- Experience with automotive, EV, or electrification programmes and exposure to high-voltage or safety-critical systems.
Nice to have
- Experience with CANalyzer, MATLAB, AVL Concerto, or JIRA.
- Familiarity with battery validation or powertrain test facilities.
- Knowledge of DFMEA, 8D, or structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Experience supporting EDU or battery testing programmes.
