TL;DR
Lead, Function Owner, HV Energy Management (Automotive): Developing and releasing high-voltage energy management features and functions for electric pickup trucks and rugged SUVs with an accent on power modes, HV safety, contactor control, and system-level requirements. Focus on integrating hardware, software, electrical architecture, testing, validation, and production calibration across the vehicle development lifecycle.

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina, or Novi, Michigan; 4 days per week in the office. Regular in-person meetings, company events, and occasional travel are required.

Salary: $160,000–$192,500 annual base salary, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

hirify.global is developing all-electric and range-extender pickup trucks and rugged SUVs by electrifying and digitizing an iconic American vehicle brand.

What you will do

  • Lead and coordinate Function Owners and ensure Energy SDV deliverables are completed on time and with quality.
  • Own high-voltage energy management features and functions, including power modes, HV power distribution, contactor control, HV bring-up and shutdown, HV safety, range, state of energy, and energy-based driving statistics.
  • Define and manage system-level hardware, software, feature, function, and architecture requirements through integration and product launch.
  • Coordinate with R&D, electrical architecture, software, production, quality, and customer experience teams throughout the system V development process.
  • Develop design specifications, test methods, DFMEA, DV, PV, and end-of-line specifications for complex mechatronic systems.
  • Manage technical releases and production calibration data, lead sprint planning and standups, and maintain design, testing, and technical best practices.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree and 12+ years of experience in mechanical, mechatronics, electrical, or software engineering.
  • Extensive experience with automotive systems or mechatronic products interfacing with high-voltage components and systems.
  • Expertise in systems engineering, multidomain physics, complex systems design, and electrical/software integration.
  • Working knowledge of embedded software, wiring, power distribution units, and automotive development processes.
  • Familiarity with A2B, CAN, Automotive Ethernet, LIN, LVDS, CANalyzer, CANoe, and requirements management tools.
  • Strong problem-solving, data analysis, communication, collaboration, and engineering first-principles skills.
