Sr. Test Systems Engineer, Powertrain (EV Powertrain Testing): Executing and automating component- and system-level validation for electric motors, drive units, dynamometers, and HIL systems with an accent on electrical, mechanical, and software integration. Focus on designing test cells and control panels, developing LabVIEW and NI-based automation, building instrumentation and data acquisition systems, and reproducing powertrain failures.
Location: Garden Grove, California, United States; onsite at the Garden Grove headquarters

What you will do
- Lead component- and system-level development and validation testing for electric motors and drive units.
- Develop automated testing methods and software to improve test efficiency, repeatability, safety, and data integrity.
- Design and build electrical control panels with power distribution, grounding, protection, relays, terminal blocks, and safety interlocks.
- Develop and maintain test software using LabVIEW or text-based programming environments to control DAQs, power supplies, relays, and sensors.
- Design electric motor and drive unit dynamometers and HIL systems for development testing.
- Analyze data, reproduce failures, and document system designs, schematics, software logic, and test procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a similar field and at least 7 years of relevant industry experience.
- Experience with validation testing and mechanical, electrical, and software system integration.
- Experience with NI PXIe-RT, cRIO, cDAQ, real-time modules, and FPGA modules.
- Ability to develop software and scripts for test automation.
- Experience with NI-XNET, CAN, LIN, NI-VISA Serial, RS232, RS485, TCP/IP, Modbus, SCPI, and FTP.
- Understanding of dynamometers, electric motors, inverters, power electronics test equipment, data acquisition, and measurement sensors.
