UI Designer (Space Technology)

Location: Long Beach, CA; Denver, CO; or Washington, DC. Successful candidates should be located near one of these offices; remote work may be considered for the right candidate. The role is marked as hybrid.

Base salary: $115,000–$165,000 per year, plus equity and benefits.

hirify.global develops autonomous spacecraft, advanced payloads, mission software, and space-based interceptors for U.S. and allied space-security operations.

What you will do

• Design desktop screens, components, and layouts for software products used in mission-critical space operations.
• Extend and maintain a scalable UI design framework covering components, states, iconography, typography, and color.
• Create high-fidelity mockups and working prototypes, then iterate on them quickly.
• Deliver strong visual and artistic direction that distinguishes the product.
• Collaborate with senior designers, the Creative Director, engineering teams, and multiple disciplines across the company.
• Own assigned work through final execution and contribute across areas beyond the primary UI focus.

Requirements

• Portfolio demonstrating interface design and strong visual craft, especially dense and complex screens.
• A couple of years of product UI design experience and the ability to work at a fast pace.
• Essential: comfort working with Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Ability to take ownership, make sound judgments, ask for clarification early, and deliver work through final execution.
• Ability to work across multiple disciplines in a lean team.
• Must meet U.S. export-control eligibility requirements: U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, protected-individual status, or eligibility to obtain required authorizations.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of UX flows and best practices.
• Experience in defense or space.
• Motion, 3D, or basic coding literacy.
