Roadway Design Engineer (Transportation Engineering)

Location: Houston, Texas; hybrid work between office and field environments

What you will do

• Prepare and review design plans, calculations, and technical reports for roadway and multimodal transportation projects.
• Apply engineering standards and codes to ensure accurate, compliant designs.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and reviewing agencies.
• Perform design analyses, cost estimates, and quantity takeoffs for assigned project components.
• Support quality assurance reviews and respond to design review comments and field questions.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 5–10+ years of transportation engineering experience with TxDOT projects.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Proficiency in MicroStation OpenRoads Designer, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D.
• Ability to work in office and field environments, including occasional exposure to inclement weather, heat, humidity, noise, hazards, and bodies of water.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role, including occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of up to 35 lbs and possible operation of a company vehicle.
