Roadway Design Engineer

Location: Brentwood, Tennessee; Knoxville, Tennessee; or Chattanooga, Tennessee. Hybrid work between office and field environments is required.

What you will do

• Support the design and detailing of local, county, and state roadway and highway projects.
• Develop typical sections, alignments, profiles, layouts, and cross-sections.
• Prepare design documentation, plans, reports, and quantity calculations.
• Perform geometric analyses, engineering calculations, and estimates using established criteria and standard software.
• Collect and process topographic survey and right-of-way engineering data for design analysis.
• Monitor compliance with applicable codes and engineering practices while supporting the project manager and design team.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• At least four years of transportation engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Proficiency in MicroStation, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D.
• Ability to work in office and field environments in the listed Tennessee locations.
• Ability to occasionally operate a company vehicle and lift, carry, push, or pull up to 35 pounds; pre-employment substance screening and background checks are required.
