Roadway CAD Technician (Civil 3D)

What you will do

• Review roadway, drainage, traffic control, and utility plans, specifications, and engineering calculations to prepare accurate design drawings and contract documents.
• Prepare and revise roadway plans, profiles, cross-sections, corridor models, construction plans, erosion control plans, and signing and pavement marking layouts.
• Create and modify alignments, surfaces, corridors, and grading models using Autodesk Civil 3D.
• Produce preliminary, intermediate, and final plan sets in collaboration with engineers, project managers, survey, drainage, utility, and transportation teams.
• Maintain quantities, plan sheets, exhibits, technical reports, permitting documentation, and construction support materials.
• Perform quality control reviews to ensure drafting accuracy, design consistency, constructability, and compliance with client and DOT standards.

Requirements

• Relevant training in CAD, drafting, or design technology, including technical coursework, certifications, or equivalent experience.
• At least 4 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with transportation engineering; TxDOT experience is preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, or comparable platforms such as MicroStation or OpenRoads.
• Experience with plan production, drafting standards, and collaboration tools used in municipal or transportation projects.
