Salary: $95,200–$140,000 USD per year, plus potential equity grants.

What you will do
- Own recurring US payroll cycles, including audits, reconciliations, variance analysis, reporting, and year-end processing.
- Lead medium- to high-complexity payroll initiatives from scoping through delivery with People Operations, HRIS, Equity, Benefits, Accounting, Tax, Legal, and external vendors.
- Diagnose root causes, design scalable process improvements, and translate payroll pain points into clear system requirements.
- Support equity-to-payroll workflows involving RSU vesting, mobility, shadow payroll, and cross-functional reconciliation.
- Manage payroll compliance, audit readiness, SOX controls, internal audits, statutory filings, W-2s, and applicable T4 requirements.
- Improve documentation and knowledge sharing while mentoring peers and helping shape the long-term payroll technology roadmap.
Requirements
- 4–6 years of progressive experience processing complex, multi-state US payroll and independently owning end-to-end payroll cycles.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience with enterprise payroll and HCM platforms such as ADP, Workday HCM, UKG, or similar systems.
- Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills, including complex formulas, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, and large-dataset reconciliation.
- Experience collaborating with HRIS, Equity or Stock Administration, Accounting, Tax, Benefits, and Legal teams.
- Must be based in the United States for this remote position.
Nice to have
- Canadian payroll experience, including CRA, Revenu Québec, and provincial compliance.
- Hands-on experience with ADP EV6 and ADP Workforce Now.
- Experience with RSU vesting, ESPP purchases, mobility or shadow payroll, business requirements, UAT, SQL, Tableau, Looker, Alteryx, RPA, or scripting.
- Experience in a high-growth public-company environment with SOX and internal audit responsibilities.
