Code Edit Disputes Medical Coder

Location: Remote from anywhere in the United States; occasional travel to hirify.global offices for training or meetings may be required.

Salary: $48,300–$65,900 per year.

What you will do

• Review disputed adjudicated claims involving code-edit denials or financial recovery.
• Extract clinical information from medical records and assign ICD-10-CM and CPT codes.
• Analyze, enter, and manage information in databases.
• Respond to internal requests for medical information and clarify coding-related questions.
• Prioritize multiple administrative requests and adapt coding procedures with limited guidance.

Requirements

• AAPC CPC certification without Apprentice status.
• At least 3 years of experience as a Certified Medical Coder.
• Ability to solve complex coding issues and apply Medicare and Medicaid coding guidelines.
• Strong data-entry, accuracy, organization, and multitasking skills.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
• Ability to work remotely from anywhere in the United States and maintain a dedicated workspace that protects PHI and HIPAA information.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree.
• Five or more years of Certified Medical Coder experience.
• CPMA certification.
• MS-DRG or APR auditing experience.
• Experience in a production-driven environment.
