Senior Coding Compliance Auditor - Inpatient (Healthcare Compliance)

Location: Remote - Nationwide, United States; occasional travel and onsite work at client, temporary, or corporate offices may be required, not exceeding 10%.

Salary: $76,300–$131,550 based on experience.

What you will do

• Conduct detailed acute-care inpatient and outpatient coding compliance audits and monitoring activities.
• Analyze audit findings, identify discrepancies and compliance trends, and develop actionable risk-mitigation recommendations.
• Partner with service line leaders to develop and validate Management Action Plans and report outcomes to Compliance leadership.
• Create and maintain the Audit the Auditor quality program, audit records, issue logs, dashboards, and analytical reports.
• Develop training materials and support onboarding, coaching, and ongoing education for coding auditors.
• Assist with annual risk assessments, compliance work plans, internal-control evaluations, and continuous process improvement.

Requirements

• 5–7+ years of experience in healthcare, acute coding, compliance, auditing, or a related field.
• Knowledge of ICD-10, DRG, CPT, and HCPCS coding, including acute inpatient and outpatient experience.
• Knowledge of revenue cycle operations, compliance standards, and auditing standards.
• Current professional certification required: CPC, CCS, RHIA, or RHIT; CCS is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; health records management or medical coding education preferred.
• Basic Word and Excel skills; knowledge of Epic, Cerner, and/or Meditech is valued.

• CHC certification, which may be obtained at a designated time after acceptance.
