Location: Remote nationwide within the United States; occasional travel to hirify.global offices for training or meetings may be required. Work requires a dedicated home workspace suitable for protecting PHI/HIPAA information.

Salary: $71,100–$97,800 per year, plus eligibility for a bonus incentive plan.

What you will do

  • Review inpatient medical records and validate DRG and ICD-10-CM/PCS coding assignments.
  • Audit MS-DRG coding disputes for accuracy, compliance, quality, and timeliness.
  • Apply industry coding guidelines and best practices to make coding decisions.
  • Communicate dispute outcomes to providers clearly and professionally.
  • Manage multiple priorities and collaborate with coding professionals across departments.

Requirements

  • RHIA, RHIT, or CCS certification held for at least four years.
  • At least three years of inpatient coding review or audit experience in health insurance or hospital settings.
  • MS-DRG coding and auditing experience.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Ability to work independently, determine appropriate actions, and communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
  • Must work remotely from within the United States and maintain a dedicated workspace that protects PHI/HIPAA information.

Nice to have

  • Associate's degree or higher in Health Information Management.
  • APR-DRG coding or auditing experience.
  • Financial recovery experience.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, metrics-driven operational environment.
