Senior Solutions Engineer- Strategic - Minnesota (Okta)

Salary: $200,000–$275,000 annual base salary

What you will do

• Lead discovery for complex enterprise customer environments and uncover business challenges related to risk, cost, and operational efficiency.
• Translate technical concepts into business value for CISOs, IT security leaders, identity engineers, enterprise architects, PAM administrators, and application owners.
• Differentiate Okta’s highly available, compliant, and broad identity platform during strategic technical sales cycles.
• Help customers discover unmanaged AI agents, assess their risks, and establish centralized control of human and non-human identities.
• Lead technical evaluations, overcome objections, and drive enterprise deals to technical closure.
• Advise strategic customers on identity security, SAML, OIDC, SSF, and Zero Trust Architecture.

Requirements

• 8+ years of recent customer-facing pre-sales experience as a Sales Engineer, Solutions Consultant, or Pre-Sales Engineer.
• Proven success with quota attainment and technical wins in large, complex strategic accounts.
• Strong executive communication, presentation, storytelling, and value-based selling skills.
• Strong technical foundation and ability to learn enterprise technologies and architectures quickly.
• Broad identity-security expertise, including identity governance, privileged access management, threat protection, modern authentication protocols, and Zero Trust Architecture.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience positioning Identity Governance and Administration, PAM solutions, and identity-security automation workflows.
• Experience with AI tools, AI agents, LLM integrations, and security implications of non-human identities.
