Lab Technical Coordinator (Clinical Laboratory)

Location: Woodstock, Illinois, United States; onsite hospital role with day-shift work and possible rotating weekends and holidays.

Salary: USD 36.30–52.63 per hour.

What you will do

• Coordinate laboratory operations, staffing, testing workflows, service delivery, and issue resolution for an assigned section.
• Review test results, quality control records, and quality assurance parameters while coordinating corrective actions.
• Develop SOPs, maintain document control, and support compliance with federal, state, local, hospital, CAP, AABB, and TJC requirements.
• Participate in laboratory information system planning and coordinate documented approval of system changes, builds, and interfaces.
• Train staff on new methods and instrumentation, oversee competency documentation, and contribute to selection and performance evaluation.
• Manage inventory, equipment maintenance, budgeting input, billing accuracy, purchasing, and major equipment acquisition activities.

Requirements

• BS degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology.
• At least two years of clinical laboratory experience, including professional experience in a technical specialty relevant to the role.
• MLS/BB/C/CG/CT/H/HTL/I/M/MB ASCP Board of Registry certification within one year of hire.
• Documented training and competency to perform complex laboratory testing and bench work.
• Ability to work with pathologists, physician-specialists, medical directors, support services, nursing units, suppliers, and multidisciplinary teams.

Nice to have

• At least five years of clinical laboratory experience, including experience in a relevant technical specialty.
