What you will do

• Perform complex molecular procedures and provide high-quality clinical test data with rapid turnaround times.
• Conduct quantitative PCR, next-generation sequencing, nucleic acid extraction, DNA/RNA quantification and qualification, and genotyping as assigned.
• Identify deviations from established SOPs, troubleshoot common issues, and implement authorized solutions.
• Perform quality control, calibration, equipment maintenance, and proficiency testing.
• Sterilize laboratory equipment and workspaces and enter clinical patient data into the LIMS.
• Maintain competency in molecular biology protocols in accordance with CAP, CLIA, and NYSDOH regulations.

Requirements

• MS or BS in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, chemical science, physical science, or biological science.
• 0–6 years of pertinent clinical laboratory experience in molecular biology.
• Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary environment with minimal direction.
• Ability to plan and carry out scientific programs collaboratively.
• Motivation to build products that improve cancer care.

Nice to have

• Experience with next-generation sequencing.
• Experience working in a CLIA/CAP high-complexity laboratory.
• Experience with robotics and automated liquid-handling systems.
• Knowledge of LIMS platforms and other computer systems.
