Lab Operations Associate I

Location: Chicago, United States. Full-time onsite laboratory role; candidates must be able to work the assigned shift.

Salary: $20.25 per hour in Illinois.

What you will do

• Move, track, gather, consolidate, and store laboratory samples.
• Manage working queues in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for multiple laboratory teams.
• Perform routine laboratory workflows without specific guidance.
• Collaborate with laboratory colleagues to meet sample turnaround times.
• Assist with documentation supporting CLIA/CAP compliance.
• Maintain laboratory cleanliness, safety, equipment, and general upkeep, including biohazard disposal.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 0–2+ years of clinical laboratory experience.
• Knowledge of CAP regulations and experience with laboratory SOPs and protocols.
• Comfort with laboratory safety requirements and training.
• Problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
• Availability to work the assigned shift; assignment depends on technical level, experience, and business needs.
