TL;DR
Director, Manufacturing Architecture (Aerospace) (PLM/MES): Building and scaling the production infrastructure that connects PLM, MES, scheduling, and manufacturing workflows across spacecraft programs with an accent on rate production, NPI, and rapid prototyping. Focus on designing adaptable production systems, standardizing BOM and change management, and building real-time dashboards and integrations without disrupting active builds.
Location: Hybrid in San Jose, California; on-site work required three days per week.
Salary: $231,000–$260,000 per year, plus equity and comprehensive benefits.

What you will do
- Own the end-to-end production infrastructure across PLM, MES, scheduling, and system integrations.
- Architect a scalable backbone supporting serial production, new product introduction, and rapid prototyping.
- Define production workflows, data models, BOM and change-management standards, routings, work instructions, and scheduling frameworks.
- Build documentation, training, onboarding, dashboards, and data integrations for production visibility.
- Coordinate with production, AI&T, quality, supply chain, Information Systems, and mission engineering teams.
- Drive the production infrastructure roadmap, migrations, and critical-path improvements while protecting active builds.
Requirements
- B.S. in an engineering discipline or equivalent technical experience; an M.S. is preferred.
- 8+ years of relevant manufacturing, production engineering, and/or technical program management experience.
- Demonstrated experience standing up, scaling, or overhauling PLM, MES, scheduling/ERP, and integrated production systems.
- Hands-on experience with high-rate production, NPI, and prototype or development builds.
- Strong knowledge of BOM and part management, change management, routings, work instructions, MRP, scheduling, and shop-floor execution.
- Access to export-controlled information requires meeting applicable U.S. Government ITAR/EAR eligibility conditions.
Nice to have
- Spacecraft or aerospace production experience involving high-reliability hardware.
- Experience scaling an organization from prototype to rate production.
- Leadership experience or readiness to manage the Production TPM team.
