Director, Manufacturing Architecture (Aerospace)

Location: Hybrid in San Jose, California; on-site work required three days per week.

Salary: $231,000–$260,000 per year, plus equity and comprehensive benefits.

What you will do

• Own the end-to-end production infrastructure across PLM, MES, scheduling, and system integrations.
• Architect a scalable backbone supporting serial production, new product introduction, and rapid prototyping.
• Define production workflows, data models, BOM and change-management standards, routings, work instructions, and scheduling frameworks.
• Build documentation, training, onboarding, dashboards, and data integrations for production visibility.
• Coordinate with production, AI&T, quality, supply chain, Information Systems, and mission engineering teams.
• Drive the production infrastructure roadmap, migrations, and critical-path improvements while protecting active builds.

Requirements

• B.S. in an engineering discipline or equivalent technical experience; an M.S. is preferred.
• 8+ years of relevant manufacturing, production engineering, and/or technical program management experience.
• Demonstrated experience standing up, scaling, or overhauling PLM, MES, scheduling/ERP, and integrated production systems.
• Hands-on experience with high-rate production, NPI, and prototype or development builds.
• Strong knowledge of BOM and part management, change management, routings, work instructions, MRP, scheduling, and shop-floor execution.
• Access to export-controlled information requires meeting applicable U.S. Government ITAR/EAR eligibility conditions.

Nice to have

• Spacecraft or aerospace production experience involving high-reliability hardware.
• Experience scaling an organization from prototype to rate production.
• Leadership experience or readiness to manage the Production TPM team.
