English Language Training (ELT) Instructor

Location: Wichita, KS, USA; instruction is delivered in person and online. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required.

Pay rate: $21 per hour

What you will do

• Deliver integrated English language instruction to non-native English speakers, including communication, job skills, digital literacy, and life skills.
• Conduct client referrals, initial assessments, pre-tests, post-tests, and ongoing evaluations of English-language progress.
• Design, maintain, and adapt curricula and lesson plans for mixed-level classes ranging from pre-literate to high-intermediate learners.
• Coordinate community volunteers serving as classroom assistants and support breakout-group activities.
• Track attendance, goals, enrollment, and student progress while compiling data and preparing reports and compliance documentation.
• Work with the Employment Caseworker on client goals and support recruitment, retention, and assessment activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in education, social services, or a related field.
• English language instruction certification is required.
• Experience teaching ESL; at least two years of ESL teaching experience is preferred.
• Strong written and oral English skills and cultural competency when working with diverse populations.
• Ability to maintain accurate student enrollment and participation records and work independently to resolve challenges.
• Creativity, flexibility, adaptability, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Nice to have

• Graduate degree in education, social services, or a related field.
• TESOL certification.
• Experience working with immigrant populations, adults, workforce programs, or job training programs.
• Experience with online instruction and learning.
