Software Development Engineer II, Global Network (Fintech)

Location: Burnaby, BC, Canada; hybrid work with an in-office expectation of at least 50% of the time monthly, typically three days per week.

Salary: CAD 124,000–155,000 per year, plus equity and additional compensation components.

What you will do

• Develop partner integrations for global pay-in and pay-out networks supporting money movements across more than 170 countries.
• Build well-tested, observable, documented, efficient, scalable, and resilient services.
• Write technical specifications, participate in design reviews, and contribute to the team’s technical vision and roadmap.
• Work with product managers to break down tasks, estimate work, and evaluate tradeoffs.
• Collaborate with global operations and partners to provide technical recommendations for customer-facing problems.
• Participate in interviewing, code reviews, mentoring, and onboarding new hires.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of building, shipping, and maintaining consumer software products.
• 2+ years of experience with services deployed on a commercial cloud provider such as AWS.
• Proficiency in Java, Go, or another general-purpose programming language.
• Experience with large-scale databases such as MySQL and DynamoDB, and monitoring systems such as Prometheus and VictoriaMetrics.
• Knowledge of technical architecture, system design, legacy-service modernization, and clear technical communication.
