Software Developer, III (Go)

Location: Waterloo, Ontario, Canada

Salary: CAD $120,000–$136,000 annually, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Build modular, composable, and interoperable platform components for precision health products.
• Develop systems for storing and processing precision health data.
• Design, develop, and deliver software features across the technology stack.
• Evaluate technical design options and propose effective solutions.
• Use tools including GitHub, Google Cloud, Go, Docker, and Terraform.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 3 years of industry experience as a software developer.
• Experience building software and systems on GCP, AWS, or Azure; GCP is preferred.
• Experience with at least one general-purpose programming language, such as Go, Java, Python, C/C++, C#, Objective-C, or JavaScript.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively.
• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada; employment-based visa or work permit sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience with Go, Java, Python, and/or SQL.
• Proficiency in Apache Beam and related data ingestion and processing technologies.
• Knowledge of ETL principles and best practices.
• Experience designing scalable data processing pipelines with Bioquery or other analytics-oriented databases.
• Education or exposure to healthcare or life sciences, especially HL7 FHIR.
