Team Lead - Trading (Algo Trading)

What you will do

• Lead the technical direction and architecture of the algorithmic trading platform and its services.
• Translate ambiguous business goals into a sequenced roadmap and predictable engineering delivery.
• Contribute code, conduct design and code reviews, and make critical technical decisions.
• Own production reliability, latency, correctness, on-call health, and incident follow-through.
• Hire, onboard, mentor, and support the performance and career growth of a small engineering team.
• Collaborate with product, operations, compliance, clearing, and other engineering teams.

Requirements

• Senior- or staff-level software engineering experience with previous engineering leadership experience.
• Trading or exchange systems experience, including OMS, EMS, exchanges, market making, algorithmic trading, or quantitative trading.
• Proficiency with low- and high-level languages such as C/C++, Go, Zig, Rust, Java, Scala, or Python.
• Strong knowledge of algorithms, distributed systems, scalability, high availability, databases, concurrency control, and low-latency system design.
• Experience with messaging queues, message brokers, object-oriented data modeling, and service-oriented architectures.
• Ability to mentor engineers, deliver complex systems, communicate clearly, and operate with ambiguity.

Nice to have

• Experience building engineering teams, owning production trading or brokerage systems, or working with algorithmic trading.
• FIX protocol, financial ledgers, financial markets, statistical analysis, or quantitative analysis experience.
• Experience with observability, tracing, continuous profiling, benchmarking, GCP, Docker, or Kubernetes.
• Experience working with distributed, remote-first teams across time zones.
