Strategic Requirements Systems Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: On-site in El Segundo, California, United States; work is required in a secure facility. Travel is minimal and working hours are standard.

Salary: $135,000–$170,000 per year in California.

What you will do

• Develop, refine, and maintain MILSATCOM system requirements using DOORS.
• Evaluate requirements for quality, completeness, consistency, feasibility, testability, compliance, and alignment with systems engineering practices.
• Coordinate with government stakeholders, contractors, configuration management, cybersecurity, integration, test, modeling, and subject matter expert teams.
• Analyze technical deliverables, proposals, and change packages for impacts on requirements, verification scope, interfaces, cost, schedule, and technical risk.
• Prepare requirements reviews, working groups, technical interchange meetings, briefings, plans, and decision-support documentation.
• Develop and review verification planning products, test artifacts, acceptance criteria, and contractor evidence.

Requirements

• Eligibility for a SECRET/TS/SCI security clearance is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.
• 8+ years of experience in satellite systems, spacecraft development, or aerospace engineering, including 5 years on DoD programs.
• Direct experience developing or managing requirements and requirements verification products for complex systems.
• Familiarity with spacecraft subsystems, schematics, interface diagrams, data communication structures, and systems engineering tools such as DOORS, Jama, or Cameo.
• Strong technical writing, documentation, communication, presentation, stakeholder-management, and Microsoft Office skills.

Nice to have

• Existing SECRET/TS/SCI clearance.
• Master’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.
• 12+ years of experience with space systems or space acquisitions.
• Satellite hardware and software development experience and proficiency with MBSE tools.
• PMP or INCOSE CSEP, ESEP, or ASEP certification.
