Lead Systems Engineer (Defense)

Salary: $108,900–$145,200 annual salary plus bonus

What you will do

• Represent systems engineering and technical solutions to customers, suppliers, and company leadership.
• Provide technical guidance to cross-functional program teams and lead engineering teams toward customer requirements.
• Establish and manage requirements flow-down, decomposition, verification, documentation, and changes.
• Convert customer requirements into low-risk integrated hardware and software solutions.
• Develop technical documentation and report technical status and plans to internal and external audiences.
• Identify systems engineering knowledge gaps and plan training to support team development.

Requirements

• 7–10 years of experience at a US Department of Defense prime contractor or a company directly supporting one.
• Expertise in integrated system hardware/software development, integration, and testing for deployed military vehicle applications.
• Experience leading and closing major design reviews, including PDR and CDR.
• Expert knowledge of DOORS and Cameo; working knowledge of ClearQuest, JIRA, and Rational development tools.
• Ability to operate and debug Linux- and VxWorks-based computing systems.
• Knowledge of SOSA and VPX standards, serial communication protocols, Ethernet, PCIe, USB, and modern processing and graphics solutions; a relevant bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience with System Safety Assessments, Functional Hazard Assessments, and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis.
• Experience troubleshooting rugged computing systems.
• Experience with RTCA/DO-254, DO-178 processes, and FAA certification.
