Chief Architect (Payments)

Location: Minneapolis, MN, United States

Salary: $190,000–$220,000 annually, plus eligibility for commission or an annual performance incentive plan.

What you will do

• Set the technical architectural direction, technology best practices, long-term vision, and guiding principles for product development.
• Define the Integrated Payment Platform Blueprint and guide the next-generation technology ecosystem for payment business growth.
• Lead, recruit, coach, develop, and manage a team of software architects.
• Advocate for architectural solutions and technology investments with product, business, engineering, delivery, and executive stakeholders.
• Partner with product delivery teams to build scalable, resilient, interoperable solutions that integrate with partner and customer ecosystems.
• Support continuous improvement, agility, and efficient product delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
• 15 years of experience in Agile software development and production application or architecture services.
• 10 years of experience in software architecture and multi-tier enterprise applications.
• At least 5 years of experience in software leadership roles and 5 years of people leadership experience.
• Senior architecture-group experience with knowledge in at least three areas including enterprise architecture, solution architecture, cloud architecture, technical or infrastructure architecture, design patterns, messaging, mobile applications, and multi-tenant architecture.
• Strong communication, collaboration, critical-thinking, decision-making, and stakeholder-influence skills.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• 10 years of payment industry experience, including leadership in payment architecture.
• Experience with AWS architecture and strong knowledge of payment products and payment business.
