Enterprise Architect Lead

Location: Oak Brook, Illinois, United States

Salary: $102,600–$193,425 per year, plus benefits, 401(k) contribution, and eligibility for a short-term incentive plan.

What you will do

• Lead and prioritize Enterprise Architecture Requests and provide architectural direction across initiatives, programs, and portfolios.
• Conduct architecture assessments, solution designs, and target-state definitions for major programs and projects.
• Translate enterprise and business strategy into reference architectures, capability maps, architectural patterns, and technology roadmaps.
• Provide end-to-end guidance across applications, integrations, data, cloud and infrastructure, security, performance, availability, scalability, and compliance.
• Lead architecture governance, review boards, and design forums while documenting decisions, risks, trade-offs, and technical debt.
• Evaluate vendors, drive technology rationalization, guide delivery teams, and mentor architects and technical leads.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in Enterprise Architecture, Solution Architecture, or Technical Architecture.
• Experience working in large, complex enterprise environments and influencing outcomes across multiple teams and domains.
• Strong knowledge of application and integration architecture, data architecture, analytics platforms, security, and identity principles.
• Experience with Azure or AWS and practical knowledge of TOGAF, Zachman, or SAFe.
• Strong executive communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Nice to have

• Experience with digital transformation, modernization, or cloud migration initiatives.
• Exposure to portfolio management, capability modeling, or value-stream mapping.
• Architecture certifications.
