Product & Production Support Engineer (Mechanical Engineering)

What you will do

• Support the development and optimization of manufacturing processes for gas chromatography systems and subassemblies.
• Design and implement assembly fixtures, test fixtures, and tooling to improve efficiency, repeatability, and quality.
• Analyze production and field failures, identify root causes, and drive corrective actions.
• Document and submit change requests for standardized product drawings and configuration updates.
• Perform occasional CAD modeling and drafting for fixture design and drawing updates.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, R&D, and Field Service teams.

Requirements

• Strong experience designing small electronic assemblies and mechanical packaging.
• Knowledge of analytical measurement sensors, detectors, and systems; gas chromatography or similar instrumentation is preferred.
• Working knowledge of hazardous-area certification requirements, including ATEX, IECEx, and NEC, and design practices for explosive atmospheres.
• Experience with root cause analysis methods such as 5-Why, Fishbone, and FMEA.
• Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks and strong attention to documentation and configuration control.
• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with 10 years of relevant manufacturing or production support experience, or an associate degree in engineering with 15 years of progressive relevant experience.

• Prior military service with a technical or maintenance background.
