Patient Access Associate Specialist - Part Time

Location: Onsite at RSFH - Roper Sawmill Hospital in Summerville, South Carolina, United States

Starting pay: $17 or above, based on experience

What you will do

• Perform patient admission, pre-registration, demographic, insurance, and physician-order processing activities.
• Assign accurate medical record numbers, complete medical necessity and compliance checks, and verify insurance eligibility and benefits.
• Collect point-of-service payments, past-due balances, and patient financial information, including payment plan options.
• Explain and distribute consent, Medicare, Tricare, observation, and other required patient forms and obtain signatures.
• Operate the telephone switchboard and provide compassionate customer service to patients, guarantors, guardians, and colleagues.
• Audit accounts, maintain accurate documentation, and provide statistical data to Patient Access leadership.

Requirements

• Must be able to work onsite at Roper Sawmill Hospital in Summerville, South Carolina.
• At least one year of customer service experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be inquisitive and open to innovation, including AI, to improve processes and patient and client experiences.
• CRCR certification required within nine months of hire; certification is company-paid.
