Lead Engineer, Level 1, Substation Technical Engineering (Hybrid Schedule)

Location: Westwood, Massachusetts, United States; hybrid schedule with at least three days in the office, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Must be able to work in the office up to five days when required and attend site visits. Travel between Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire may be required.

Annual salary: $129,450–$143,830, with potential incentive eligibility.

What you will do

• Develop, plan, design, maintain, and operate transmission and distribution systems and substation equipment.
• Own asset cost and performance activities, including reliability analysis, event trending, and equipment-condition monitoring.
• Develop, justify, and approve multi-year Life Cycle Plan activities and ongoing projects.
• Prepare engineering designs, system specifications, electrical permits, and customer notifications for system additions, modifications, and replacements.
• Provide technical direction during normal and emergency operations, including failure evaluation and corrective-action implementation.
• Mentor and coach engineers, coordinate work priorities, and lead team members and escalations as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Engineering Technology.
• Five to eight years of substation engineering or related electric utility experience.
• Knowledge of substation equipment, including transformers, circuit breakers, switchgear, reclosers, capacitor banks, controls, instrument transformers, reactors, switches, and batteries.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and working knowledge of standard office software.
• Ability to work in person, attend site visits, travel between MA/CT/NH, and participate in emergency restoration assignments.
• Valid motor vehicle operator’s license required. Immigration-related visa sponsorship is not available.
