TL;DR
Engineering Lead - Process Equipment (Electrical) (Industrial Power Systems): Owning electrical engineering for pilot, demonstration, and commercial-scale titanium and zirconium materials production facilities with an accent on medium- and low-voltage distribution, equipment selection, and plant electrical architecture. Focus on leading power system studies, coordinating vendors and construction partners, and carrying electrical scope through commissioning, energization, troubleshooting, and startup.

Location: Mountain View, California, United States; onsite industrial facilities role

Salary: $170,000–$260,000 annually

What you will do

  • Own the electrical engineering scope for pilot, demonstration, and commercial-scale titanium and zirconium materials production facilities.
  • Develop and review medium- and low-voltage power distribution systems, including single-line diagrams, load lists, grounding, cable systems, and equipment specifications.
  • Select and specify transformers, switchgear, MCCs, VFDs, motors, UPS systems, and related electrical equipment.
  • Translate process equipment and utility requirements into electrical design requirements and coordinate with process, mechanical, controls, utilities, EPC partners, vendors, and contractors.
  • Lead or commission load flow, short-circuit, arc-flash, protective-device coordination, grounding, and power-quality studies.
  • Lead electrical construction, commissioning, energization, troubleshooting, turnover, safety reviews, and development of internal engineering standards.

Requirements

  • 5–8+ years of electrical engineering experience in industrial facilities, manufacturing, chemical plants, energy systems, mining, metals, semiconductors, oil and gas, or comparable capital-intensive environments.
  • Experience owning electrical scope from front-end engineering through construction, commissioning, or plant startup.
  • Strong knowledge of medium- and low-voltage distribution, switchgear, MCCs, transformers, VFDs, UPS or backup power, grounding, cable routing, electrical rooms, protection relays, and field installation.
  • Experience developing or reviewing single-line diagrams, load lists, equipment specifications, electrical layouts, cable schedules, I/O interfaces, and construction packages.
  • Knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, applicable NFPA and IEEE standards, hazardous-area classification, arc-flash analysis, short-circuit studies, protective-device coordination, and electrical safety practices.
  • Degree in electrical engineering or a related technical field required.

Nice to have

  • Experience with high-temperature industrial equipment, chemical processing equipment, vacuum systems, furnaces, rectifiers, large motors, compressors, pumps, or high-power thermal systems.
  • Experience with SKM, ETAP, EasyPower, AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, or comparable electrical design and review tools.
  • P.E. license and experience as an electrical owner's engineer on a major capital project.

Culture & Benefits

  • Comprehensive medical, vision, and dental coverage.
  • Company 401(k).
  • Flexible paid time off policy.
  • Direct-hire, full-time employment.
