Casualty Claims Handler

What you will do

• Liaise with insurers, policyholders, brokers, and other parties.
• Investigate allocated employers' liability and public liability claims, including desk-based reviews and referrals to field adjusters.
• Obtain evidence and documentation, assess policy indemnity, legal liability, quantum, and appropriate resolution tactics.
• Prepare detailed reports and provide advice to clients.
• Negotiate settlements within agreed authority limits and proactively progress cases to conclusion.
• Maintain accurate reserves, follow documented client procedures, and stay current with technical changes through training.

Requirements

• Experience handling employers' liability and public liability claims.
• Experience handling personal injury and third-party property damage claims.
• Knowledge of injury claim valuation, Civil Procedure Rules, and the Claims Portal.
• Strong communication, customer service, planning, organisational, and IT skills.
• Ability to manage an allocated workload, work collaboratively, and demonstrate adaptability and flexibility.

Nice to have

• Experience across all three UK legal jurisdictions.
• Experience in other areas of claims handling.
• Knowledge of reserving philosophies.
