What you will do

  • Handle complex lead primary and excess Marine Liability claims in line with claims, reserving, governance, legal, and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop claim strategies, monitor reserves and performance targets, and provide clear narratives on significant claims and developments.
  • Deliver responsive, transparent communication with brokers and insureds while negotiating complex coverage issues.
  • Work with underwriting, actuarial, broker, and legal stakeholders on claims trends, loss performance, contract wordings, renewals, and new business.
  • Analyze claims portfolios and data to identify causation trends, profitable segments, and areas requiring remedial action.
  • Support junior team members, supervise service providers where applicable, and assist the Claims Manager with development projects.

Requirements

  • Professional background and knowledge in Marine Liability.
  • Experience leading strategy for complex and/or high-value claims portfolios.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret claims data and collaborate with underwriting, actuarial, and claims leadership.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, relationship-building, and coverage analysis skills.
  • ACII accreditation completed or in progress.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid role based in London, United Kingdom.
