Field Claims Representative (Property and Casualty)

Location: Akron, Ohio; coverage of Lake, Geauga, and Cuyahoga counties. Eligible candidates must live in or very near these areas and must be able to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship. Merit-based work-from-home flexibility may be available after initial in-person training.

What you will do

• Investigate claims and assemble facts through phone, mail, and on-site inspections.
• Determine policy coverage, evaluate losses, and analyze legal liability.
• Handle multiline property and casualty claims, with an emphasis on property claims.
• Study insurance policies, endorsements, and forms to support accurate claim decisions.
• Drive claims toward resolution and attend arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials when necessary.
• Ensure claim payments are issued accurately and on time.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent direct experience handling property and casualty claims.
• At least 3 years of experience handling multiline property and casualty claims, with an emphasis on property claims.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to resolve complex issues.
• Ability to organize and interpret data, manage multiple assignments, and work effectively with diverse individuals.
• Ability to accurately handle mathematical problems, including geometry, unit costs, sums, and financial documents.
• Valid driver license, ability to drive an automobile, and a driving record meeting company underwriting guidelines.

• Field claims handling experience.
• Knowledge of Xactimate software.
