Casualty Claims Handler

What you will do

• Establish whether insurance cover is in place for each claim and record claims in the digital handling system.
• Investigate liability claims from the desk or by instructing loss adjusters.
• Assess liability, negotiate settlements, and manage claims through to resolution.
• Ensure compliance with legal timescales and client service-level agreements.
• Build relationships with external clients and stakeholders.
• Provide referral support to less experienced colleagues.

Requirements

• Experience handling injury claims.
• Experience with policy wording, terms and conditions, insurance, and the insurance market.
• Knowledge of injury claim valuation and reserving philosophies.
• Knowledge of Civil Procedure Rules and the Claims Portal.
• Strong communication, customer service, planning, organizational, teamwork, adaptability, and IT skills.
• Ability to take responsibility for an individual workload.
