Senior Satellite Tasking Project Manager (Satellite Tasking)

What you will do

• Lead daily satellite tasking and collection management, including prioritization, scheduling, work assignment, and operational coverage.
• Translate customer requirements into executable collection plans that account for imaging parameters, collection geometry, satellite capacity, and expected product quality.
• Monitor collection execution, product delivery, image quality, collection yield, order completion, and service level agreement performance.
• Act as the primary operational interface for the customer and provide reports and performance briefings to customer and internal stakeholders.
• Coordinate with flight operations, product, engineering, processing, and delivery teams to resolve technical and procedural issues.
• Lead root cause analysis, continuous improvement, automation, procedure development, and day-to-day leadership for tasking personnel.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in remote sensing, geospatial science, geography, GIS, aerospace engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• At least five years of experience in remote sensing, satellite imagery operations, collection management, satellite tasking, mission planning, or a related operational environment.
• Experience leading operational teams, technical projects, or customer delivery activities and managing service level agreements, metrics, reporting, and escalations.
• Strong knowledge of remote sensing, satellite imagery, image processing, collection geometry, sensor constraints, and image quality factors.
• Proficiency with GIS tools such as QGIS and the ability to analyze operational data and develop data-informed recommendations.
• Full professional proficiency in Japanese and English, written and spoken, is required. Ability to support operational emergencies and priority customer requirements outside normal business hours is also required.
