TL;DR
Sr Manager, Manufacturing Test Engineering (Robotics) (PCBA manufacturing test): Building and scaling test systems for electronic subsystems across prototyping, new product introduction, production ramp, and sustaining support with an accent on mixed-signal ICT/FCT hardware, fixtures, and test data infrastructure. Focus on leading a multidisciplinary team, integrating test software and instruments, improving yield and reliability, and deploying scalable manufacturing test strategies.

Location: Onsite at the Salem, Oregon office; all roles are U.S.-based. Current authorization to work in the United States is required. Occasional travel to contract manufacturers, suppliers, or remote production sites may be required.

Salary: $162,000–$210,000 USD base salary annually.

What you will do

  • Build, lead, and mentor a multidisciplinary Manufacturing Test Engineering team for electronics and controls.
  • Define and execute the global PCBA test strategy across prototyping, NPI, production ramp, and sustaining operations.
  • Oversee fixture selection, calibration, spares, Gauge R&R validation, and deployment to internal and supplier sites.
  • Drive test data infrastructure, real-time dashboards, yield analysis, root-cause investigation, and predictive failure monitoring.
  • Coordinate with Design Engineering, System Engineering & Integration Test, Manufacturing, and Product teams.
  • Manage test asset lifecycle programs, documentation, handoffs, and continuous improvements in reliability and throughput.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 10+ years of manufacturing test engineering experience for electromechanical or embedded systems, including 3+ years in leadership or management.
  • Experience building and scaling test teams and owning end-to-end manufacturing test systems.
  • Expertise in mixed-signal bed-of-nails ICT and functional test hardware, custom test-interface PCB design, fixture integration, and DFT.
  • Proficiency in Python or LabVIEW, test instruments, communication protocols including I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, and EtherCAT, plus MES and production test data pipelines.
  • Current authorization to work in the United States and availability for onsite work in Salem, Oregon.

Nice to have

  • Experience in robotics, aerospace, automotive, or other complex electromechanical systems.
  • Exposure to safety-critical product testing and regulatory compliance.
  • Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or structured quality improvement experience.
  • Experience with SEIT-to-MTE handoffs, test coverage reviews, ATE platforms such as NI/TestStand, and cable harness validation.
