Engineering Manager - Release & Configuration Management (Autonomous Vehicles)

Location: Remote within the U.S.; hybrid office work is available in Fort Worth, Texas, with locations also listed in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and Blacksburg, Virginia.

Salary: $160,800–$193,000 USD annual hiring range, plus bonus and stock options.

What you will do

• Lead a team of release managers responsible for engineering and product release lifecycles.
• Coordinate release trains, feature deliveries, bug fixes, risks, release notes, change logs, and release candidates.
• Facilitate Git branching, software versioning, impact analysis, pre-release activities, and recurring release meetings.
• Track release artifacts across requirements, architecture, design, hardware, software, testing, and verification.
• Maintain configuration baselines, audit configuration items, and verify release versioning throughout the product lifecycle.
• Plan resources, manage performance, support hiring, and collaborate with development, fleet, V&V, and product teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related technical field.
• 10+ years of experience with software build, integration, and test systems.
• 2+ years of experience managing direct reports.
• Experience with complex embedded systems, including ADAS, autonomous driving architecture, sensors, networking, compute hardware, and control systems.
• Experience with release tools, build systems, software versioning, defect management, and source control.
• Experience delivering production systems from early prototypes through product launch and in-field maintenance.

Nice to have

• Experience testing autonomous vehicles, ROS-based robotics systems, or ADAS features.
• Configuration management experience with safety-critical systems and knowledge of systems engineering, verification, and validation.
• Project management experience.
