Engineering Manager (Cybersecurity)

Location: Fully remote

Salary: $160,000–$220,000 per year

What you will do

• Translate product vision into clear day-to-day execution, remove blockers, and maintain sustainable delivery.
• Lead, coach, and mentor a team of 3–6 engineers through regular 1:1s, feedback, and career development plans.
• Partner with Product, Security, and engineering leads to scope work, balance tradeoffs, and refine delivery plans.
• Improve planning, retrospectives, standups, quality, and on-call processes using delivery and system health metrics.
• Maintain strong technical context, support design decisions, and help technical leads evolve the architecture sustainably.

Requirements

• 1–3+ years of engineering management experience, ideally in a small-to-mid-sized startup or scale-up.
• Strong technical background, preferably following an IC-to-Engineering Manager path.
• Experience mentoring engineers and shaping effective team dynamics.
• Calm, thoughtful communication in ambiguous or high-pressure situations.
• Ability to bring structure, empathy, accountability, and continuous iteration to complex technical and human environments.

Nice to have

• Experience in cybersecurity, adtech, or distributed high-scale systems.
• Experience working in a remote-first environment.
• Experience navigating post-founder-led transitions or scaling an engineering organization.
