Patient Access Associate Specialist (Healthcare Revenue Cycle)

Location: Onsite at Covenant-St Joseph Healthcare in Bangor, Maine, United States

Salary: $18.00–$19.15 per hour, based on experience.

What you will do

• Register patients, assign accurate medical record numbers, collect demographic and insurance information, and process physician orders.
• Complete medical necessity and compliance checks, including Advanced Beneficiary Notice screening for Medicare patients.
• Verify insurance eligibility, select applicable plan codes, and enter benefit data to support point-of-service collections and clean claims.
• Pre-register patient accounts, communicate financial liabilities and payment-plan options, and collect point-of-service and past-due balances.
• Explain and distribute consent, Medicare, Tricare, observation, and other patient forms; obtain required signatures and documentation.
• Audit accounts, correct data, operate the telephone switchboard, and provide compassionate customer service.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of customer service experience.
• Inquisitive approach and openness to innovation, including AI-enabled process improvements.
• Ability to work onsite at Covenant-St Joseph Healthcare in Bangor, Maine.
• CRCR certification required within 6 months of hire; the company pays for the certification.
