Healthcare CSR - Remote

Location: Tampa, Florida; 100% remote within the United States

Salary: $16.00–$18.00 per hour, depending on experience

What you will do

• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits through payer portals, phone calls, and verification tools.
• Update patient demographic and insurance information in EHR and internal systems.
• Document copayments, deductibles, coinsurance, and out-of-pocket maximums.
• Communicate with patients about insurance coverage and respond to basic inquiries.
• Collaborate with clinical and billing teams on eligibility and authorization status.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies, escalating complex cases when needed while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of experience in a healthcare call center or healthcare administration, including insurance verification, patient registration, or medical billing.
• Knowledge of health insurance terminology, including copay, deductible, coinsurance, HMO, PPO, and subscriber.
• Basic understanding of Medicaid and Medicare and their differences.
• Proficiency navigating healthcare systems; EHR experience is preferred.
• Strong customer service, clear communication, attention to detail, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check.

• Experience in a high-volume healthcare setting or with major insurance payers.
• Experience working with performance metrics and maintaining strict daily schedules.
