R&D Manager (Telecom)

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and develop a software engineering team.
• Own planning and execution of R&D activities across the assigned product area.
• Manage priorities, risks, dependencies, capacity, milestones, and customer commitments.
• Coordinate with Product Management, Architecture, QA, Support, Program Management, and Operations.
• Drive product quality, test coverage, automation, CI/CD, release readiness, scalability, security, and operational stability.
• Support modernization toward cloud-native, containerized, and Kubernetes-based deployments while reducing technical debt and recurring defects.

Requirements

• Proven experience in software engineering, technical leadership, or R&D management.
• At least 3 years of experience in a team lead or engineering manager role.
• Experience leading development teams in a complex product environment.
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, release management, quality processes, and Agile/Scrum delivery.
• Strong English communication skills and fluent Czech are required.
• Ability to balance technical involvement with people management and work with senior technical and business stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience in the telecom or messaging domain.
