What you will do

• Design, develop, and integrate mechanical systems supporting high-energy laser weapon platforms.
• Create detailed drawings, layouts, diagrams, manuals, and production documentation for complex designs.
• Interpret engineering concepts and complete design details from verbal, written, and preliminary instructions.
• Collaborate with systems, mechanical, and electrical engineers, program leadership, and government customers.
• Identify manufacturing, assembly, installation, and operational issues and improve designs for functionality and compliance.
• Coordinate and plan large or complex drafting projects when required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field and 2+ years of experience.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance.
• Extensive experience with SolidWorks and computer-aided design.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an active development lab and agile environment.
• Strong analytical, mathematical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing and ASME drafting standards.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and interface requirements.
• American Design Drafting Association certification.
