Lab Support Specialist (Biotechnology)

Location: Onsite in Somerset, New Jersey, United States. Weekend work may be required up to 10% of the time.

Base pay: $63,298–$83,077 USD per year, plus performance-based bonus and/or equity for eligible roles.

What you will do

• Receive, process, track, label, and document samples in LIMS, including chain-of-custody and identity records.
• Coordinate patient sample handling, shipments, inventory tracking, and documentation with Biosample Management and warehouse teams.
• Operate, clean, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory equipment, reagents, software, IT systems, LIMS, and network setups.
• Manage supplies, reagents, chemicals, consumables, ordering, and forecasting to prevent operational delays.
• Support scientists and laboratory staff with reagent preparation, testing setup, data recording, discrepancy reporting, and issue escalation.
• Maintain an audit-ready laboratory through SOP compliance, EHS practices, safety protocols, cleanliness, organization, and waste management.

Requirements

• Associate or bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, medical laboratory science, or a related field is preferred.
• Previous laboratory or healthcare experience and basic knowledge of laboratory procedures and safety practices are preferred.
• Familiarity with LIMS, Microsoft Office, computer systems, and data entry.
• Ability to follow SOPs, safety regulations, EHS guidelines, and regulatory requirements with accurate specimen handling and recordkeeping.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, time management, prioritization, teamwork, and written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States; employment eligibility is verified through Form I-9 and E-Verify. The role may require extended standing, lifting up to 25 pounds, PPE use, and handling biological specimens and hazardous materials.
