Laboratory Chemist I (Biotechnology)

What you will do

• Perform testing, calibration, and inspection of instrumentation and test kits at defined manufacturing stages.
• Manufacture liquid test consumables and certified reference materials under GLP/GMP requirements.
• Operate, maintain, and safely handle laboratory equipment including pH meters, analytical balances, density meters, pipettes, spectrophotometers, plate readers, and automated liquid handlers.
• Conduct qualifications, experiments, verifications, validations, and other quality laboratory activities.
• Identify issues affecting test performance and communicate findings to relevant personnel and cross-functional partners, including Research & Development.
• Use the ERP system, maintain documentation, write reports, and present findings clearly.

Requirements

• 0–5+ years of laboratory experience.
• Knowledge of ISO 17025, ISO 17034, ISO 9001, GLP, GMP, and cGMP requirements.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to follow documented processes.
• Mechanical aptitude and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work onsite in Westbrook, Maine, United States.
• Ability to use PPE, handle laboratory equipment, lift up to 25 pounds, and work around chemicals or biological materials.
