ETS Senior Systems Engineer (VMware)

Location: Onsite in Manassas, Virginia, United States

Salary: $60,000–$180,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Review operational events and propose refinements, automation, and expanded handling capabilities to improve service uptime and performance.
• Collaborate with enterprise operations, cybersecurity, networking, cloud, technical support, and external technology partners to troubleshoot issues and develop solutions.
• Assess and report vulnerabilities and risks across virtual server and container hosting architecture.
• Develop and perform quality-control checks for service uptime and operational performance.
• Develop and maintain operational metrics for service uptime and operations.

Requirements

• US citizenship and an active Public Trust clearance are required.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with at least five additional years in computer science, engineering, information systems, information technology, or a related field.
• 5–10 years of enterprise infrastructure or virtualization engineering experience.
• Strong VMware administration experience with vSphere and vCenter, plus experience with VMware Aria Operations Suite and VMware Cloud Foundation.
• In-depth knowledge of Dell Blade network switching and firewall management for virtual infrastructures.
• Subject-matter expertise in at least two areas including Kubernetes, server hosting, virtual networking, network and application security, or scripting and programming.
• Experience with at least three technology areas including VMware or Omnissa products, Windows or Linux server operating systems, Dell or HPE server hardware, and Kubernetes container infrastructure.

Nice to have

• Experience configuring Dell or Cisco chassis network and storage switches.
