VMware Engineer

Location: 100% remote within the United States

Salary: $100,000–$170,000 annually

What you will do

• Design and operate VMware vSphere, vSAN, NSX, and VMware Cloud Foundation environments across data centers and hybrid cloud deployments.
• Build and maintain Tanzu Kubernetes Grid environments for containerized workloads.
• Implement Aria Automation for self-service provisioning, lifecycle management, and policy enforcement.
• Automate VMware infrastructure with PowerCLI, Terraform, Ansible, and vRO.
• Manage capacity, storage performance, observability, disaster recovery, and business continuity using Site Recovery Manager and replication.
• Lead upgrades, lifecycle management, security patching, troubleshooting, and cloud integrations with VMware Cloud on AWS, AVS, and GCVE.

Requirements

• Eight or more years of hands-on VMware platform engineering experience.
• Deep expertise in vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, vSAN, storage policies, and NSX-T or NSX-V.
• Strong PowerCLI scripting and automation experience.
• Experience with Tanzu or VMware container platforms and disaster recovery patterns including SRM.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States; new H-1B visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• VCP or VCAP certification.
• Experience with VMware Cloud on AWS, AVS, GCVE, VCF, or Aria Operations.
• Experience with migration programs from VMware to alternative virtualization platforms.
